The new 4* Parador de la Isla
de La Palma is located near the capital of the island, Santa Cruz
(8km)and the airport (5km), in an
 area
of great natural beauty. It is built in a modern and typically
Canarian style and features gardens well-stocked with indigenous
plants. The rooms are well equipped with telephone, television,
heating, air conditioning and a mini bar, and as is typical of
Spanish Paradors are furnished in a local style. Each room has a
balcony or terrace. The reception area, finished in attractive
stone, is adjacent to a lovely court yard stocked with indigenous
plants giving the atmosphere of an older building. There is a
swimming pool with lovely views over the coastline below. Breakfast
is a delight with a choice of local produce both hot and cold, all
available in buffet style. Dinner is the highlight of the day with
superb dishes served in the elegant restaurant with full waiter
service. The cuisine uses local ingredients wherever possible and
always features
Canarian specialities as one of the choices. There is also an
excellent choice of wines from La Palma or further a field in Spain.
Guided walkers will be collected from the hotel. For self guided
walkers a car is preferable although a short taxi ride will take you
to the capital from where you can connect with the island bus
