Some of
the most spectacular scenery in the world |
Walking in Switzerland is walking in
some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. Its climate and landscape ranges from
the Mediterranean to Tundra within a few miles.
For walkers, hikers & trekkers, it is a paradise with thousands of miles of clearly marked footpaths
winding through breathtaking scenery. We have explored this wonderful country for 25 years
and have barely scratched the surface!
Snow capped peaks and Glaciers give way to high meadows with a riot of colourful Alpine
flowers and tinkling cow bells. In between are countless blue / green lakes in the deep
glacially formed valleys.
Towns such as Luzern and Bern are spotlessly clean and packed with places of
interest.
Swiss people
are kind and friendly. They genuinely care about the well-being of their
visitors and their environment.
We offer Guided and Self Guided Holidays either single centre, multi centre or
trekking. For dates of our guided periods Click HERE
in Meiringen in Switzerland.
We also offer Self Guided walking holidays in the following centres.....

showing the location of our walking holiday centres.
These have all been carefully chosen to give guests a complete variety of scenery and
experience. Each centre has excellent rail, bus and cable car communications and is easily
reached from Zürich, Basel or Geneva airports. We have chosen our centres to give maximum
opportunity for walks and excursions.
Each centre also is easily reached from the others. During your stay in Switzerland,
you can stay in as many of them as you wish. Take a 2, 3 or even 4 centre holiday! Guests
taking a two or more centre holiday can dispatch their luggage by rail between centres and
then enjoy the transfer day unencumbered knowing that luggage will be waiting at the
destination.
The summer and autumn seasons are from mid-June to mid-October. During those times, the
cable cars and mountain railways are running and the higher places are accessible. During
spring, from May to mid June you can take a Swiss holiday and have the place virtually to
yourselves.
The winter season runs from Christmas to Easter with Go as you please
holidays available throughout. Guided walking will take place during Christmas
week (20/12 - 27/12) and week early in February.
Our policy is to offer only en-suite accommodation in family owned and run hotels where
our guests receive personal and friendly attention and service. Our hotels are regularly
visited by New Experience management and hoteliers are not only colleagues but personal
friends.
| Expensive?
.not any
more... |
When you mention Switzerland to many people, their reaction is "expensive".
It was at one time, but now we have caught them up and in many cases overtaken them. The
main thing to remember is that Switzerland represents VALUE for money.
Switzerland has the finest public transport system in the world. Trains,
buses, cable cars and lake steamers run on time; they are clean and their timetables are
adhered to and integrated. Officials are intensely proud of their transport system and are
ready and anxious to help and advise you in a polite and courteous manner. In Switzerland,
it is an honour to work for the transport network.
.What's more, it is cheap! Everywhere you go on your New Experience Holiday, you
travel at half-fare. We include the excellent Swiss Card in your holiday arrangements
which not only gives you free rail transfers from your arrival airport to holiday centre
and back, it also allows you to travel at half-fare on public transport during your
stay. Just to give one example; when Meiringen guests visit Steingletscher high up on the
Susten Pass, you pay £7 each for a return ticket. The modern air conditioned bus is
driven for an hour each way by a highly skilled Post Bus driver up a series of dramatic
hair pin bends bringing us safely to our destination and back again at the end of the day
(on time). This is indeed value for money.
Guests can take advantage of the unique fly / rail baggage system which allows you to
travel light between Zürich or Geneva airports and your centre (unfortunately
this is no longer available from Basel Airport. Your cases arrive shortly after you and
your hotelier will collect them for you. When you go home, you get rid of them at the
railway station, and the next time you see them is at your UK airport carousel.
