Segovia Trek

The hotels we feature on this trek are mostly historic buildings, all of good quality and all include dinner at their traditional restaurants. The accommodations have all been chosen for their charm, location and friendliness. All rooms have a private bathroom, mostly with a shower over the bath. The hotels will let you know about any local specialities for dinner and breakfast.

Below is a brief description of our normal hotels, however, if full, we may change the hotel to something similar.

Nights 1 & 7: Your first and last nights are spent in the historic city of Segovia itself. This 15th century building was turned into a Hotel & Spa in 2005 and once inside you can enjoy many amazing works of art including beautiful 15th century Mudéjar moulded ceilings. Their restaurant specialises in high quality Castilian cuisine where you’ll find traditional dishes with a modern take. The Spa is located in a restored archaeological site where you will find remains of an old Roman house, walls and medieval arches interspersed with the Spa facilities which include a sauna, steam room, swimming pool and massage services.  All rooms feature free Wi-Fi, television, air conditioning, mini-safe, and private bathroom with WC, shower and hairdryer.

Nights 2 & 3: Built in the 19th century this comfortable hotel is located next to the entrance of the stunning Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildenfonso (Real Sitio). La Granja sits at a pleasant crossroads with the Sierra de Guadarrama surrounded by beautiful pine and oak forests between a labyrinth of streams and springs. All 16 rooms are elegantly decorated to suit the charming atmosphere.  You can enjoy traditional cuisine at the hotels delightful restaurant. All rooms feature free Wi-Fi, television, air conditioning, and private bathroom with WC, shower and hairdryer.

Night 4: This delightful country hotel sits within a natural setting surrounded by mountains and above the valley. You can relax in the lovely lounge with fire place, relaxing library and outdoor swimming pool within the gardens. The restaurant features a terrace and a traditional wood-fire oven and grill where they serve delicious regional dishes. All rooms feature free Wi-Fi, television, air conditioning, and private bathroom with WC, shower and hairdryer (some rooms have a terrace).

Nights 5 & 6: Considered the oldest house in Sepulveda, this 12th century Romanesque building has 8 rooms set around the small central courtyard with lovely gardens with views of Sepulveda town. The rooms are decorated following the old style of the rest of the house using restored elements but with todays’ comforts. Dinner is taken at a local traditional restaurant which serves local Castilian cuisine. All rooms feature free Wi-Fi, television, air conditioning, and private bathroom with WC, shower and hairdryer.
