Holiday Accommodation Details

Anse Chastenet - 4 Star

Anse Chastenet Estate is set in 600 lush tropical acres bordering two soft, silver sand beaches near to Soufriere and close to the two renowned peaks of the Pitons.  The hotel rooms are spread over the hillside above a perfect, palm fringed cove. In total there are 49 rooms of four different categories which grow in size and view quality as you go up the grades. Every room is different with a running theme of views, openness and privacy.

Rooms do not feature electric air conditioning, but are cooled by soft sea breezes and ceiling fans.  Lighting is designed not to attract mosquitoes and other creatures and casts a soft glow over the whole area. Telephones and internet are available from the Reception area.

The hotel does not have a swimming pool as the clear, warm waters of the Caribbean Sea are perfect all year for swimming.

Pathways at Anse Chastenet are fairly steep and there are a number of steps to negotiate.  However, transportation is always there if you feel to weary to climb to your room!

All rooms are equipped in much the same way and have fridge with ice compartment, tea/coffee maker, ceiling fans and large netted beds. Shower rooms feature luxurious toiletries, hairdryer and bath robes.

There are four categories of accommodation.

Cottages - these are the original hexagonal wooden cottages dating back to when Anse Chastenet was first constructed in the late 70's.  The rooms are fully renovated and beautifully painted in white, blues and greens. Although the smallest of rooms, they are still very spacious and have the added feature of a wrap around balcony with part Piton/Sea views.  Surrounded by lush tropical plants and flowers, it is a delight to sit admiring the view in the company of varied visiting bird life.  These rooms are fully enclosed with shuttered windows and doors and are closest to Reception and all but the beach Restaurant.

Deluxe Beach Side Rooms - Located amongst lush gardens behind the palm fringed beach so perfect for a family or those who enjoy an early dip in the warm sea. The large, fully enclosed rooms are furnished with huge wooden beds and other attractive furnishings.  Verandas overlook the gardens and are completely private to the beach.

Deluxe Hillside Rooms - Located towards the top of the Estate, these rooms are more spacious both within the rooms and the shower rooms.  They do not feature balconies but have comfortable, covered seating areas open on one or two sides to the view. Bathrooms are fully enclosed!

Premium Hillside - The largest of all rooms at Anse Chastenet, high up on the Estate and with superb views, many of the Pitons.  Shower rooms are huge many with interesting features such as a tree growing in the middle!   As with the Deluxe Hillside rooms, they do not feature balconies but have plenty of comfortable seating open to the view.

Restaurants - included in your stay are breakfast and dinner.  With a choice of four Restaurants for dinner and two for breakfast, there is superb choice.  Breakfast is mostly taken in the Piti Piton located on the hillside near Reception.  The Piti Piton then serves delicious East Indian Cuisine on most evenings.  Alternatively, you can enjoy breakfast by the beach in the Diable Beach Restaurant.  In the evening, this becomes a superb location to enjoy a varied menu of Creole/World Cuisine.  In addition, there are two smaller dining areas - The Treehouse and Emerald Restaurants.  The Treehouse menu is similar to the Diable Beach Restaurant and the Emerald is purely vegetarian offering wonderfully creative menus from ingredients grown in the Estate kitchen garden.

In addition - Anse Chastenet offers its guests many ways of passing a morning or afternoon.  Either take to the water (under or over), stroll through the neighbouring Plantation Estate with a guide to explain the days gone by or indulge in hot stone full body massage to the sound of the waves.  If walking is not enough exercise, try a mountain bike trail - all equipment supplied.  Visits to other parts of the island are also arranged if you wish to venture further afield.
