Romania - Transylvania hotel to hotel

The hotels are mostly small family run hotels. The largest is in Brasov  with 40 rooms and the smallest with 4 rooms.  All rooms have private bathroom, mostly with showers. You will be assured of dinner with Romanian specialities and country breakfasts. Romanian hospitality will also be to the fore as the owners in most cases will welcome you personally.

Night 1 A well located 3 star hotel with 40 modern rooms each with an internet connection. The hotel has recently been built and is not a communist conversion. Dinner is taken in a restaurant across the square and offers the opportunity to eat local products cooked Romanian style. Breakfast is buffet style and more international than others.

Night 2 This small hotel is classified locally as a 3* resort, however it only has 6 rooms, and is a long way from the sea. You however will be assured of an excellent welcome from the owners who are very proud of their hotel. The rooms are simple but clean with showers rather than baths. Dinner is taken in the small restaurant  and you will be assured of a hearty traditional  Romanian dinner prepared by the owner who is a qualified chef. Breakfast is traditional Romanian style. There is a small garden. Wireless internet.

Night 3 This small hotel - 6 rooms - is well located being just across the road from the famous ‘Dracula’s castle.  Virgil and his wife, Marcela,  are excellent hosts - think hospitality rather than service.  Marcela will cook for you in the evening a traditional Romanian meal and will prepare a typical country breakfast in the morning. There is a small terrace.

Night 4 This hotel is located in the heart of the mountains. It is a modern hotel built by a local family. It has 15 rooms all modern in style with excellent bathrooms. The rooms all have a balcony, there is a small garden. Dinner is taken in the restaurant and will feature local specialities.

Nights 5 & 6 This hotel is in a tranquil location with outstanding views.  2 out of their 4 rooms have balconies which give wonderful peaceful views. Dinner will be prepared by your host Raz and family. The breakfast will feature homemade jams, yogurt, cheese and fresh milk.

Night 7  For your last night you are back in a small town. This pension has 18 rooms, all with a balcony or terrace. There is a big garden with beautiful views of the mountains. Dinner will be served in the restaurant or on the terrace and the breakfast is a buffet.
