Davos is the highest town in Europe at 5200 feet and has long been renowned for its
pure and invigorating mountain air.
The town is divided into two parts Davos Dorf and
Davos Platz. The lively main street is lined with a large selection of hotels,
restaurants, cafès and many quality shops.
During the evening, there are many activities
for you (if you still have the energy after the wonderful local walks!) These include
cinema, casino, night spots, bars and of course the cafès and restaurants.
During the
last week of July and the first fortnight of August there is a music festival with many
leading artistes, choirs and orchestras in concert.

t is so easy to explore the captivating countryside surrounding Davos with
over 280 miles of well marked and maintained paths ranging from leisurely trails to more
testing terrain high up in the mountains.
The wonderful integrated system of mountain
railways and post buses serve 5 spectacular hiking areas and include all the most scenic
vantage points.
In these diverse landscapes the flora and fauna are unsurpassed with the
most beautiful alpine flowers and the occasional glimpses of Ibex, chamoix and marmots.
The mountain railways are open from mid-June onwards. The local bus service and
mountain transport is free of
charge for our guests.

office.
Apart from walking, Davos offers guests a comprehensive programme of events and
activities throughout the summer
Including such things as cycling, tennis, squash, golf, horse riding, skating, summer
sledging, swimm
ing, wind surfing, and sailing. Local excursions by horse drawn carriages
are available.
From Davos there are a number of exciting excursion possibilities which include the
"Heidi" and "Bernina" Expresses to St. Moritz, Bernina Pass, Tirano
and Lugano, The famous "Glacier Express" to Zermatt, a trip to Vaduz
(Liechtenstein) and a "Grand Alpine Tour" including St. Moritz around four
passes through the Swiss National Park.

Davos is easily reached by rail from Zürich airport in about 3 h
ours with the last leg
of the journey on the spectacular Rhätische Bahn narrow gauge line which climbs over 3500
feet up through Klosters to Davos.
The rail journey from the airport is a very special
part of your Davos holiday. At both Davos stations the unique Swiss Fly / Rail Baggage
service is available.
**** Morosani Post Hotel
The "Pöstli" as it is known locally, is a superb hotel with excellent
facilities. In June 1999 it was awarded the highest award for first class quality of
service in Swiss Tourism.
It is situated in Davos Platz about 250 yards from the station and cable cars, close to
shops and restaurants.
The large wel
l appointed rooms are tastefully decorated in Swiss Pine and each is
equipped with bath, shower, WC, Cable TV, minibar, telephone and hair drier. Most rooms
also have a balcony.
There is a first class restaurant with gourmet cuisine and also the famous Davos
Breakfast. Room service is available.
The hotel has a swimming pool, sauna and steam bath. There are lifts to all sections
and floors of the hotel.
