Located in the Bundner Alps in the east of Switzerland in the canton of Graubunden, the area around Davos has over 180 miles of well marked and maintained paths ranging from leisurely trails to more testing terrain high up in the mountains. The wonderful integrated system of mountain railways and post buses serve 5 spectacular walking areas which include all the most scenic vantage points. In these diverse landscapes the flora and fauna are unsurpassed with the most beautiful Alpine flowers and the occasional glimpses of ibex chamois and marmots. Nearby is the alpine resort of Klosters, made famous by its annual royal patronage, which a number of our routes visit.

Davos is the highest town in Europe at 1584m and is renowned for its pure and invigorating mountain air. The town is divided into two parts, Davos Dorf and Davos Platz. Trekking in Davos, Switzerland. The main street is lined with a large selection of restaurants, cafes and many quality shops. Although a busy town in the winter in summer it is much quieter and the clientele changes from predominately cosmopolitan to predominately Swiss. Most of the people staying in the area are either walkers or are visiting one of the world famous health clinics. Our guests will be issued a guest card which uniquely gives free bus journeys in the town and on many routes radiating into the countryside as well as all local mountain railways and cable cars.

There are many places to visit when not walking: cheese factories local museums a brewery or visit St Moritz or Switzerland's only National Park in the Engadine Valley or take the train to Italy.

There is a rich variety of walks available suitable for all walkers with Davos as a base; amongst our favourites are the delightful Dischma valley; the Joriseen turquoise lakes hemmed in by mountain peaks; the Alpentour with its array of Alpine flowers in late spring and into the summer; the Jakobshorn Ridge and several passes where you are more likely to see marmots than other walkers!

You can even walk to Austria on a high ridge from next door Klosters, a Sound of Music in reverse! There are spectacular views from all our walks with some of the more challenging routes taking you up to 2560m.
