Clients often want to enjoy more than one area and find that travelling even a couple of hours leads to a totally different walking experience. We are extremely happy to put these together for you allowing you to enjoy walking in both Poland and Slovakia.
We will make all hotel reservations and arrange transport and transfers.
Slovakian Tatras
Nestling at the foot of the High Tatra mountains our base for walking in the Slovakian High Tatras is picturesque Stary Smokovec a village conveniently located at a junction of the ‘Tatra Railway’ allowing excellent access to all the main walking areas. The village has a source of excellent mineral water and soon hotels were built and it became a thriving spa town.
Stary Smokovec is very close to the border with Poland making it an idea venue for a multi centre holiday.
Polish Tatras
The Tatra mountains part of the Carpathian range extends for 50 km and forms the border between Poland and Slovakia. There are numerous side ridges spreading out from the main ridge forming deep valleys. Well -marked paths are plentiful (250km in total) extending through meadows and canyons shaded by spruce pine oak and larch trees.
Hotel Smokovec - 3 Star
Located in the village of Stary Smokovec this hotel is a great base to explore the Tatra mountains. It is a two minute walk from the railway station. The rooms are equipped with TV radio and mini-bar most with balcony. The en-suite bathrooms have either a shower or bath.

Hotel Grand - 4 Star
Open since 1904, Grandhotel is situated in the centre of Smokovec and is just five minutes’ walk from the train station. Recently renovated it still retains the style of one of the most prestigious hotels in Slovakia. Dinner and breakfast are taken in the grand dining room. Dinner is either buffet style or 3-course table service, breakfast is a buffet with some hot dishes. There is an impressive indoor swimming pool saunas whirlpool and fitness room.
All rooms feature free Wi-Fi, television, safe, tea/coffee making facilities and private bathroom with WC, shower/bath and hairdryer.

Hotel Bel Ami - 3 Star
Featuring stunning views of the Tatra Mountains, this purpose-built hotel is ideally situated within the quiet town centre just of Zakopane and a 15- 20 minutes’ walk from the bus station. Some of their 58 rooms feature balconies. Continental breakfast and dinner are taken in the dining room.

Availability Information
The paths in Slovakian Tatras National Park do not open until the 15th of June in order to protect young wildlife. Walking is then possible until the 1st of November when the paths close again. The highest rainfall is in June and July when it falls mainly in thunderstorms. September and October are months noted for long periods of beautiful sunny weather.
In Poland the high altitude and surrounding high mountains are main factors of Zakopane's mountain climate. The higher paths begin to be free of snow in May but this does vary from year to year.
