Standard Graded Hotels

Here are details of the standard graded hotels in Marrakech, in the walking areas and in Essaouira.

Dinner is included every night except Marrakech on your second night and Essaouira.

Standard Graded
Riad Magellan - Marrakech

Phillippe and Stephanie will welcome you to their traditional Moroccan style Riad. They will ensure that you have a peaceful haven from the bustling Medina outside the door. It is located relatively centrally in the Medina and within just a few minutes walk of all points of interest, the traditional markets just 400m away. There is a hot tub on the terrace. The rooms have air conditioning and are all in Moroccan style based around colours around a central courtyard, superior rooms available at a small supplement.

Kasbah Samra - Imlil

Located high above the head of Imlil valley in the village of Tamatert. The view that greets guests from the roof terraces is simply stunning – the mountain vista that surrounds Samra and spreads out before it is  breathtaking. Samra has a total of 8 bedrooms, each with its own individual character. All rooms have an en suite shower room and are comfortable and rustically stylish. There is a larger room and a tree house available at a supplement. All rooms have a fireplace, (the tree house has a wood burning stove), as due to the altitude the nights may be cold. Traditional Moroccan dinner and breakfast is taken in a room with traditional low tables and low sofas.

Chez Momo - Ouirgane

Located overlooking a man-made lake which displaced the original hotel when it was constructed just 5 years ago. It allowed the owners to build a new hotel using local artisans in traditional style and material. The building has matured and blended into the surroundings, in its own landscaped gardens, to the point that you would not believe that it has been recently built. There is a cooling swimming pool and a choice of 11 standard or suite rooms all with showers. The restaurant features local cuisine for lunch and dinner and overlooks the swimming pool and more distant lake.

Ourika Garden Mountain Villa - OurikaThis small hotel’s rooms and amenities are set around a walled garden.  There is a large kitchen garden where your dinner vegetables are grown, also in the grounds is a traditional clay oven for bread making.  There are 6 rooms with a choice of superior, deluxe or Junior Suite rooms each with a shower/bath.  Dinner and breakfast can be taken inside in the restaurant or outside on the patio. The chefs use local ingredients (some very local) in creating typical Moroccan dishes. Wi-fi available.

EssaouiraYou have a choice of hotel here.

Vila Quieta

This is a small private palace that the owner has opened to the public as a hotel. It is across the road from the beach in a quiet residential section of Essaouira. It is a 30 minute walk from the Medina, town centre. There is a swimming pool set in a delightful scented garden. There are 14 individually decorated rooms and suites divided into five categories, each with a shower or bath. Standard category clients stay in a standard room, whilst higher graded clients have a deluxe sea view room. Both can be changed with an adjustment in the price. Breakfast is taken in the central courtyard or in your room.

Hotel Atlas

A 5 star treat at the end of an active walking holiday. This is a large resort style hotel with all amenities. It is located across from the beach but only 10 minutes from the main Medina. There are 156 modern rooms in three categories: Standard, Premium and Premium Sea View. Premium rooms are larger, and there are suites available. There are three restaurants - one on the beach - or if you wish for more choice wander into the Medina to a local restaurant. Breakfast is an international style buffet. There is a large swimming pool and the hotel is set in beautiful Andalucian style gardens. There is a spa centre with a large choice of treatments. Standard category clients stay in a standard room, higher graded stay in a deluxe sea view room.
